Perancangan Jaringan Local Area Network pada Laboratorium Universitas Bina Darma

Abstract
This study aims to analyze the design of a computer network system in the laboratory of Universitas Bina Darma, focusing on component selection, physical and logical topology design, and network system testing. The approach used in this study is qualitative, with semi-structured interviews and direct observation methods, aimed at collecting data from informants with direct experience in network system design and implementation. The research findings indicate that the network system design in the laboratory must consider the hardware and software requirements that can support the development of future technologies. Strategically arranging network components is key to optimizing the functionality of the computer laboratory. The logical topology design, which involves IP address management and Variable Length Subnet Mask (VLSM) techniques, has also proven to be crucial in creating an efficient and stable network system. System testing conducted through field verification processes shows that proper network management can minimize issues and improve overall network performance.
