Abstract

The rapid development of information technology has driven the increasing demand for networks that can support efficient and secure communication between divisions within a company. One solution that can be implemented is the Virtual Local Area Network (VLAN), which allows devices in the network to be grouped logically based on specific functions or divisions. This study aims to design and simulate the implementation of a VLAN network in a fictional company using Cisco Packet Tracer software. The approach used in this research is the Network Development Life Cycle (NDLC), which ensures that the network design is well-structured and thoroughly tested. The simulation covers various technical aspects, such as VLAN configuration, trunking, inter-VLAN routing, and connectivity testing between devices in the network. The results of this study show that the proper implementation of a VLAN network design can enhance the efficiency and flexibility of communication between divisions within the company, with low latency and simplified network management. The application of VLAN can serve as an effective solution to meet the communication needs in a rapidly growing business environment.
