Gambaran Pelaksanaan Pre dan Post Conference di Rumah Sakit Umum Daerah dr. Zainoel Abidin Banda Aceh

Abstract
The implementation of pre and post conferences is an important part of the clinical communication of the nursing team which aims to ensure continuity, effectiveness, and safety of patient care. However, its implementation in various health care institutions is still not running optimally and consistently. This study aims to determine the description of the implementation of pre and post conferences in Dr. Zainoel Abidin Banda Aceh Regional General Hospital in 2025. This study used a case study design with a descriptive observational approach. Observations were conducted directly to obtain real data on behavior, interactions, and implementation of nursing activities in a clinical environment. Data were collected for five days through direct observation of the implementation of pre and post conferences. The results showed that the implementation of pre and post conferences was not consistent, with pre conferences only being carried out in 53.3% of shifts and post conferences in 73.3%. Some post conference indicators were well implemented (100%), but participation in conveying obstacles was still low (66.7%). The study recommends the preparation of clear SOPs, increased supervision from the nursing field, active involvement of the head of the room, and utilization of conferences as a learning tool for students
