Asuhan Keperawatan pada an. A dengan Pneumonia dan Gizi Kurang: Studi Kasus
Main Article Content
Abstract
Pneumonia is one of the leading causes of death among children under five worldwide, particularly in developing countries, including Indonesia. The risk of this disease increases when a child is also malnourished, as it can weaken the immune system and worsen the progression of the illness. The approach is carried out through the five stages of the nursing process, starting from assessment to evaluation. The purpose of this case study is to evaluate the nursing care provided to a five-month-old infant who was treated in the PICU of Dr. Zainoel Abidin Regional General Hospital in Banda Aceh with a medical diagnosis of severe pneumonia accompanied by malnutrition. The evaluation results showed that one nursing problem, namely hyperthermia, was resolved during the course of care, while the other diagnoses still require ongoing monitoring and further intervention. After several days of treatment, it was shown that one nursing problem could be resolved during the care, while the other diagnoses still required further intervention. The management provided included airway management, oxygen therapy, nutritional support via NGT, intravenous fluid therapy, administration of antibiotics as per medical instructions, and education for the family.
