Abstract

The psychoeducational activity conducted at Rumah Harapan Graha Prima Orphanage was specifically designed using a positive psychology approach, emphasizing the emotional development of children through two core values: gratitude and forgiveness. The primary objective of this initiative was to equip the children with an understanding of the importance of appreciating the small things in life. This activity targeted nine resident children of the orphanage comprising five boys and four girls aged between 8 and 14 years old. The selection of this age group was based on their emotional developmental stage, which is still highly responsive to positive stimulation and empathy training. The implementation method was designed to be interactive, beginning with a socialization session to introduce the basic concepts of gratitude and forgiveness. This was followed by open discussions, guided personal storytelling, and practical activities involving educational games and simple, meaningful simulations. Through this engaging and communicative approach, the children were encouraged to become more open to their own emotional experiences and to learn how to express them in healthy ways.
