Abstract
This study aims to examine the relationship between family support and career adaptability among final-year psychology students in Bekasi City. Family support is believed to be one of the major external factors that significantly contributes to shaping students’ self-confidence, resilience, and flexibility in planning and adjusting to their career paths. The research adopts a quantitative correlational approach using non-parametric methods, considering the non-normal distribution of the data. The sample consisted of 120 final-year female students, selected through purposive sampling based on specific criteria, such as being in the thesis-writing stage and preparing to enter the workforce. Data were collected using two measurement instruments: the Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support (MSPSS) to assess perceived family support, and the Career Adapt-Abilities Scale (CAAS) to measure levels of career adaptability. Data analysis using Spearman’s correlation test revealed a very strong and significant positive relationship between family support and career adaptability (ρ = 0.862; p < 0.001). This finding suggests that the higher the level of perceived family support, the greater the students’ ability to effectively adapt to upcoming career challenges.
