Abstract

Discipline is one of the fundamental aspects of Human Resource Management (HRM) that significantly influences the performance of both individuals and organizations. It is not merely limited to punctual attendance or timely task completion, but also encompasses responsibility, commitment to duties, adherence to work procedures, and consistency in performing professional roles. A high level of discipline reflects an individual’s awareness and willingness to comply with the values and rules established by the organization. This contributes to the creation of an orderly, efficient, and productive work environment. Conversely, a lack of discipline can lead to various issues, such as a decline in service quality, workplace conflicts, and disruptions in achieving organizational goals. Therefore, it is essential for organizations to instill a culture of discipline through effective coaching, supervision, and the implementation of appropriate sanctions. Discipline is not merely a basic behavior, but rather a foundational element in shaping strong work character, which is crucial in developing high-quality, competitive human resources who can contribute positively to organizational and national progress.
