Abstract

Understanding environmental teachings in Islam influences the development of natural resources and environmental conservation by emphasizing the balance between humans and nature and the responsibility as stewards (khalifah). Ecological challenges in majority-Muslim countries, including pressures on natural resources and economic disparities, are significant. Balancing economic growth with Islamic principles requires a holistic approach that integrates economic needs with environmental sustainability. The role of human resources is crucial in sustainable development. A lack of education on Islamic environmental teachings has the potential to adversely affect the sustainability of natural resources. Without sufficient understanding, environmentally unfriendly practices may persist, threatening existing ecosystems. Therefore, the importance of harmonizing Islamic values with advancements in modern science is paramount. Through this approach, we can ensure that environmental preservation takes precedence in natural resource development. By comprehensively considering ecological, social, and economic aspects, we can create sustainable and balanced strategies to manage these valuable natural resources for the benefit of future generations.
