Pemanfaatan Biometrik Telapak Tangan untuk Verifikasi Pembayaran QR di Era Digital
Main Article Content
Abstract
The use of palm biometrics as a verification method in QR code-based payment systems represents an innovative breakthrough that integrates security, convenience, and efficiency in digital transactions. This makes palm biometric verification systems significantly more secure than traditional methods such as PINs, cards, or even fingerprints, which are more vulnerable to data theft or forgery. The authentication process is conducted in a contactless manner, making it highly relevant in meeting hygiene standards and preventing the spread of diseases in the post-pandemic era. Another advantage lies in the integration of artificial intelligence algorithms, which enhance the accuracy, speed of biometric data processing, and adaptability to various lighting conditions and hand positions. However, the implementation of this technology is not without challenges. Privacy issues and the protection of biometric data remain major concerns, as biometric information is highly sensitive and cannot be altered once compromised. Furthermore, the initial investment cost for acquiring scanning devices and supporting infrastructure may pose a barrier to large-scale adoption, especially in developing countries.
