Persepsi Masyarakat terhadap Kebijakan Kemenhub yang Menjadikan Bandara SMB II sebagai Bandara Domestik

Abstract
This study aims to analyze the public's perception of this policy using a qualitative approach, through in-depth interviews with several respondents directly affected, such as air travelers, tourism business operators, and academics. The findings indicate that this policy has led to an increase in travel costs for passengers, affecting their purchasing power and mobility. The policy has also resulted in a decline in the number of foreign tourists visiting the region, which has directly impacted the revenue of the tourism sector and the local economy as a whole. An important finding from this study is that the policy was not based on an in-depth analysis of its effects on various sectors, particularly the tourism sector and the local economy. Through an analysis using Thomas R. Dye’s Public Policy Theory, it is found that policies that do not consider the impacts on various related sectors can lead to public dissatisfaction and worsen economic conditions and public mobility. This study recommends the need for a reevaluation of the policy regarding the status change of Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin II Airport, taking into account input from the public and stakeholders so that the policy can better align with public interests and support improved economic development and mobility.
